My students need Chromebooks to help them explore the world around them. I am not seeking an expensive device; I am trying to give them tools that may help them become successful learners.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are achieving amazing things! Most come from Spanish speaking homes to an English speaking school. These little 6-year-olds will even translate conversations between their parents and me (their teacher)! Our school is a small town setting; we only have one traffic light in our whole town! Most of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch and get yummy backpacks (food for the weekend).
With all of the elements that may go against these learners, they continue to come to school and strive to be the best students and learners possible!

My Project
Literacy and Language will be the primary use for the Chromebook computers in my first grade classroom. My students will be able to use the computers when they have completed their work to have books read to them or simply learn by experiences through the web. Students become more confident learners when they feel confident in their communication skills with teachers and other students.
The computers will be used for those students who are new to our country by using Google Translate for classroom communication!
We also need experience on computers for our required state testing. My students would greatly benefit from learning how to correctly use the computer to get them ready for state testing. Teaching youngsters technology will help them advance as 21st century learners!
