Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is all about making nursery rhymes more fun, interactive, and meaningful for my students during story time. I’m hoping to bring classic nursery rhymes to life using felt story pieces that students can touch, move, and use while we sing and retell the stories together.

Instead of only listening, students will get to actively participate by helping tell the story, sequencing events, and interacting with the characters.

This hands-on approach keeps students engaged and excited while supporting important early learning skills like vocabulary development, listening comprehension, and oral language.

My goal is to create a more playful and memorable learning experience where students are learning through doing. These felt storytelling materials will help build confidence, encourage participation, and make story time a joyful part of our day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
