The timing couldn't have been more perfect since we are doing the creative curriculum box study. The students were involved in opening up the boxes and taking the items out. These items will be used by the students to work on gross motor skills as well as hand eye coordination. Your support has helped the children bond over shared activities that allows for friendships to flourish and grow.\r\nMost immediately, the girls and boys were enthusiastic over the new theme puzzles including characters of Scooby Doo, Bluey, Disney and Pixar's Cars Lightening McQueen and Tow Master along with Moana and friends. Pairs of students soon choose a puzzle together and then in collaboration problem solved how to complete it. I watched as students who as times previously had conflicts, smiled and laughed as they collectively worked on puzzles. The team building activity of solving puzzles and soon making friendship bracelets will have children create positive interactions of friendship and caring. The egg shakers and music bells have been especially exciting for my students—they help develop rhythm, coordination, listening skills, and self-expression. I've seen students become more engaged, confident, and willing to participate as they follow beats, explore sounds, and make music together as a class.\r\nReading in our classroom is interactive and done through read-alouds and small group discussions where students listen, share ideas, and build vocabulary. While we have not yet used the holiday and culturally diverse books, I am excited to introduce them soon to help students learn about different traditions, cultures, and experiences, while also strengthening their language and comprehension skills.\r\nSome students who are typically more reserved have really come alive during music activities—they enjoy leading rhythms and participating in group songs, which has helped them feel more connected and confident in the classroom.
