My Students

The Middle Ages unit has the potential to capture students' imagination. We also have an opportunity to cross over subjects and apply their work on simple machines, forces, and energy from science to our work with history.

The students are interested in history and are very creative.

If we tap into their natural abilities, we can help them achieve more in every subject. Middle Ages has tended in the past to be the unit that students have scored most poorly on in testing. That is a real shame since there is so much to explore in that unit. If we can engage them in a project that stretches all of their talents, we should be able to turn this around.

My Project

The items we are requesting will be added to the donations of materials students will work to gather themselves. As we study the Middle Ages, we will use these to construct siege works. The students will use their creations to either attack or defend the castle wall as we collect data on the results.
