Our students are bright and capable young men and women, eager to learn and socialize with their peers. We try to provide many opportunities in the media center for them to come together and work as teams, inside and outside of the classroom, to improve their skill sets, and to best prepare for the future. We also strive to provide them with reading materials that appeal to their interests and help them grow as individuals.
Our high school is located in North Carolina and is largely populated by the children of our military stationed here and overseas.
We are a high needs school, serving a low-income population. With North Carolina school budgets being cut in every department, we no longer have enough funding for extra materials and look to you, dear donors, to aid in the education of all these bright young men and women.
My Project
We are requesting this small selection of the most current fiction titles featuring diverse main characters. Keeping a well balanced collection of books is essential for every library. Lately, we've been noticing that we need additional books featuring or written by people of color.
It's important that our students are able to read about and explore the stories of various races, cultures, and peoples.
Highly praised and award winning books such as "On the Come Up" and "With the Fire on High" will be highly sought after by our teenage readers. Our students have been checking out a lot more books lately, so help us keep the best titles in stock. Help support our high school readers!
