This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Keep reading to learn new vocabulary in the target language. It is the same when you learned your first language. The more you read, the more you learn and understand.

My students are between 13 years and 18 years old.

They come from various economic backgrounds. They are interested in learning a new language and make connections between the language they know and learn. They are eager to learn about other cultures.

My Project

The bookcases will help the students to have easier access to the reading material and it will encourage them to read more in the target language. In a global economy, it is very important to know more than just one language. This will increase the students' chance to be competitive in the job market.

The students start out without any knowledge about the German language or culture.

It is such a joy to see them grow, learn, and understand the new language. In German 3 and 4 they explore German websites on their own, listen to German music, or chat. It will be appreciated to receive the funds for this project.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
