Meanwhile, my AP English Literature students will get to analyze Their Eyes Were Watching God, drawing inspiration from Janie Crawford's powerful journey toward self-discovery and autonomy as a Black woman in the South.\r\n\r\nYour contribution also allows us to secure copies of The Tortilla Curtain, a novel set right here in the West Side of Los Angeles that directly resonates with our culturally diverse student body. By contrasting the lives of privileged residents with those of undocumented immigrants, this book sparks profound discussions about social injustice, xenophobia, and the American Dream. Having enough protective equipment for every student has helped create a classroom environment where students can focus on inquiry, collaboration, and discovery instead of worrying about limited supplies.\r\n\r\nWe recently used the gloves during our body systems and homeostasis investigations, where students explored how different organ systems work together to maintain balance in the human body.
