My students are very special. Several of them have special needs and some have other behavioral challenges due to experiencing some level of trauma. Over 75 percent of our students live in poverty. Many of our students either currently are or have been homeless at some point, which is truly devastating. We also have a high percentage of students who are brand new to the country and don’t speak a word of English.
My grade level changes almost every year, and because of our population, I tend to purchase a lot of our classroom supplies.
Whatever puts a smile on their faces makes me happy! My goal is to make their six hours of school time as special as it can be. They are always grateful for the love and support they get, which is why I am always looking for ways to improve my instruction! I get a lot of hugs here!
My classroom is in the basement of our building and is in need of some locking cabinets. Our classroom needs a place to safely store materials such as cleaning supplies, paints, glue, and other items that need to be kept out of little hands. I am asking for a cabinet that will hold all of the extra supplies that don’t need to be in view and that should also be locked when not in use. This cabinet is large enough to safely store numerous items that should not be left out in plain view of curious children. It will be very useful in my class!
