My Students
The students at my school could use the warmth they need to be outside at recess when it's a little warmer out. They also need to be warm when waiting for the bus as well. Often students don't come with the warm clothes they need. Giving them items that keep them warm and stylish will help their health and keep them from being sick this year.
My Project
Students in my district often come to school with the clothes on their backs. They have one sweatshirt that they wear every single day; it's all they can afford. The requested sweatshirts will let them have some school pride as I will iron on our school logo when they come in and will give them another option to wear in the cold Ohio winters we have. The hats and gloves are items that a lot of middle school students need but often do not have. I'd like to give them these items knowing that they are there to use when they go outside. These are great items to keep in their lockers to use until the end of the school year because in Ohio it's still pretty cold in April/May.
The Ohio winters can be brutal and I just want to help keep my students warm.
