Our school is a school that is dedicated to teaching students in a nurturing and supportive environment.
In our mini integrated classroom we support students with diverse learning needs and many different cultural backgrounds. Our students speak multiple languages, have sensory, social, and emotional needs, and learn best through engaging activities. Our students benefit from a visual, but organized and decluttered environment to minimize distractions.
My Project
Kindergarteners are explorers at heart! Organization and durability in our classroom is a necessity with curious minds and sticky little fingers! We take pride in creating centers for every lesson that are engaging and support our students social and emotional needs. It is amazing to see children’s excitement when you bring out a fresh center or learning game. They are not even aware that they are learning!
With all of the center-based learning happening in our room, a Cricut Explore Air 2 and accessories will help make the process of creating the materials easier, less time consuming, and the vinyl adhesive will help our materials and labels last all year long.
In our special classroom, we cover all open bookcases and shelving with curtains to keep distractions at a minimum. The cable hooks are used to hold up the curtains for easy access to items as well as hanging other necessities in our classroom without damaging walls or furniture.
During lessons, we teach using various co-teaching models, meaning we are teaching in different places within the same classroom. Desk organizers will make this transition from different places in the room easy for both the teachers and students working in the designated area.
Lastly, binders help us teachers organize unit planning and we need a calendar to keep track of our meetings, trips, special events, and school-wide assemblies!
