Many of my young preschoolers have limited opportunities for building gross motor skills. Our classes serve students with a range of disabilities including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities.
The typical student in my classroom has special needs.
These students do not have the resources to work from home that I can give them in the classroom. Many students do not have opportunities to use the materials I select for the classroom. They are sweet, little, and delicate bodies that I want to mold into learners in school. I feel that creating opportunities for growth will make my autistic students grow in the classroom.
My Project
Stickers are so fun for preschool students. They love to receive them and use them throughout the school day. I am requesting stickers for themes during school and for holidays for crafts and for projects to use throughout the school year. Also, I am requesting dot stickers that we use daily for fine motor strengthening. Students use these for worksheet practice with a coloring sheet and a tracing sheet. These activities will help students be able to use a writing utensil correctly and with enough pressure. We are excited for new stickers in our class!
