Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Orchestra students at our middle school are extremely hard workers. Through generous grants and donations, they have been able to begin taking private lessons and achieve a high level of playing that furthers their ability and drive to continue perfecting their instrument.

We are a Title I school with 88% of students receiving free and reduced-price lunches.

We have over 100 students in the orchestra program with 100% of them renting instruments. We maintain a high standard of care for instruments and often times need new strings, cleaning supplies, rosin, bows, etc. to keep instruments in good working order.

My Project

We are asking for stickers to add to our prize box to use for incentives in orchestra class. Students collect stickers to put on their music binders, laptops and cellphones. They get so excited about them!

Students can earn stickers by participating in class, playing in front of the class, taking their instrument home, practicing before or after school, taking tests and more!

Stickers are a great small incentive for students to feel accomplished and have a drive to participate. We get all different themes and types of stickers so each student can choose what they are interested in!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
