This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I need basic supplies for my classroom to provide a healthier learning environment. I have tried to teach my students basic hygiene, such as wearing a mask when sick (or at least covering their mouths when they cough), washing their hands properly, and using hand sanitizer after blowing their nose. I have students wipe down tables and wash their hands before they sit down if a student with symptoms was sitting there in the last class (this is after I already sprayed the area down with a disinfectant). I am trying to minimize the amount of germ spreading and hopefully cut down on the number of sick students.

My students need masks, disinfectant spray, paper towels, sponges, and soap to help keep illnesses from spreading and hopefully stay healthy.

Some students come to school ill which makes other students uncomfortable. My classes are at full capacity, so I cannot move students when they ask to be moved away from a student who is sick. I want to be able to provide a mask to students who ask for one. I also want to clean the room thoroughly once a week. My student volunteers recently used my Swiffer products, and it was gross how much dust has accumulated since August. I would like to have everything dusted once a week to cut down on allergies. Overall, this project will help me provide a healthier learning environment.
