Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an awesome third grade class. They are all at different academic levels, and have an array of talents. My students come in daily with a positive attitude, ready and willing to learn!
My students are learning to write like storytellers.
Our school has adopted the Writers Workshop Program where they transition from writing "like news reporters," to writing like "movie-makers!" As a result, my third graders are eager to showcase their work and display it for our classroom visitors. The problem is, that many of my students do not have their own printers at home, and need to print most of their work in the classroom. Sadly, our low supply of ink limits their production and hinders on their enthusiasm to create new work.
My Project
I have a very colorful and inviting classroom and we have walls to fill with student work! My students are writing fast and furiously. What we need is ink to print the many stories my students have been conjuring. My students are learning to be life-long writers and are eager to publish their work. Having ink will also allow my students to work on research projects for other subjects.
Every child should have the opportunity to display their creativity.
By providing our printer with ink, my students will feel like proud authors, as they admire their illustrated and printed work on the walls.
