My Students

I'm proud to say I teach at my Title I school in NY. My students face many challenges but still come to the art room with enthusiasm and a love for art. I teach at a school where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch and our resources are limited. Some of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and many are refugees from other countries.

Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best.

For many of my students, the art room is where they feel most successful. Therefore, it is important that we continue to provide the best learning environment, curriculum, and resources for our young artists.

My Project

In our after school STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, art and math) club we have students who range from Kindergarten to Sixth grade. Along with the age differences comes a wide range of different interests. We are always looking for new activities and projects to keep students excited and engaged.

Some students recently expressed a desire to learn how to sew.

Your donation will provide materials for sewing projects that are suitable for younger and older students. It will also provide our students with a fun craft project that includes their own wind chimes to paint and assemble.

On a science day students will be thrilled to have the materials to make their very own bouncy balls.
