My Project

My students love to have hands on opportunities to learn. Teaching K-5 I have the opportunity to build on the student knowledge of force and motion as they progress through the grades. The primary students will use the ramps and ball kit as an introduction to force. They will test out different grades of ramps, along with different balls to determine if the grade of the ramp or the material of the ball determines how far and fast the ball travels.

As the students build on their knowledge of force and motion, they will continue to experiment culminating in the building of a Rube Goldberg machine using the kits purchased.

Students will have to plan and experiment on how to get their ball through various stages to end up at the goal.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
