This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day, my third-grade students enter my classroom ready to learn. For many of them, school is the best place to be. Most of the students come from low-income families, and they all live in a rough neighborhood filled with crime. Often times, many of the students are homeless, and coming to school is their safe place. Although my students are faced with all these obstacles, it does not stop them from coming ready to learn and complete their work. My students are amazing kids that deserve so much. My goal is to be able to provide them with new opportunities to help them succeed and to have a successful future.

My Project

The LEGO building kits will allow my students to be exposed to different STEM activities that they have not been exposed to. Coming from a low income community, my students are not exposed to STEM activities that will challenge their mind and brain. These LEGO kits would change that. My students would be able to have a hands-on experience that will help them challenge and exercise their brain. The LEGO kits will also give my students the opportunity to practice their social skills because they will have to work with their peers as a team to ensure that the projects are complete.
