They knew exactly what was inside, their brand new white fluffy pom poms. \r\nWhen we unpacked the box and handed out the pom poms to each girls so we could fluff out the strands, all you heard was squeals of excitement. The smiles on their faces made this practice extra special!\r\nThe energy the poms created was felt by everyone who watched and heard our cheerleaders at the game. This project will teach my students compassion through completing a community service project. My school is a community school and each Friday, we have a food distribution for the members in our community. My students planned the idea to put together bags to pass out during the food distribution on Fridays. The students plan to put a toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, and gloves along with a few lifesaver candies in bags.\r\nWhen we opened the packages from the suppliers, the students were so excited to start the project. Our plan is to start it after Winter Break when the rest of the items are delivered. These headphones have helped create little pockets of calm and focus. I didn't think my project would get funded as it was my first time asking from Donors Choose. It was unexpected, and both myself and my students are very excited to have received them. They couldn't wait to open your gift as soon as I told them I have received some donations through Amazon Retails and donor like yourself. I will upload some photos of my class with using the exercise mats for the first time.\r\n\r\nGone are the days when my students had to lie on the ground or grass to exercise. Students no longer have to worry about getting their clothes dirty or getting bitten by ants or insects. They no longer have to lay on the hot asphalt blacktop or wet grass. In the past, most of my students were not fond of having P.E. at all. Now, they keep asking for P.E. daily. We have been using the mats for warm-up and stretching exercises. There is a yoga club at our school. As we walked to the front of the school to go home they were sharing with others what was in the box that we opened up.\r\n\r\n They have made shirts with all sorts of designs to help spread smiles and joy wherever they go on our campus. They are having a wonderful time when other students stop them and ask them about their shirts. The joy and pride I see them exhibit as they others of how they have them and that they created them fills them with pride.
