My students need science and technology items that include dependable headphones, tablets to access online lessons, and science kits to enhance STEM education. WE need tablets and more.

My Students

My kids are talented, creative, and unique students all coming from diverse backgrounds. Despite coming from hardships and overcoming daily obstacles, they continue to strive to do their best in and out of the classroom. Our Title 1 school and second home offer an environment where we focus on academic and personal success, as well as aspire to be the very best that we can be.

Many of the students are poverty stricken or from under privileged backgrounds.

My students deserve the very best learning environment to be successful in their learning careers. I am determined to provide that opportunity to my students and to help them reach their dreams.

My Project

Science and technology are prevalent more than ever. The materials that I am requesting will impact my students and their STEM success.

With approximately nine 3rd grade classes, we are short on laptops for all students to have one.

With this shortage, we have to split laptops that leaves students with one day a week access to a fair amount of time working with online lessons. Having additional tablets in the classroom will enable students to have better access to those online lessons, as well as research for projects. Additionally, coming from a Title 1 school, many students do not have internet access at home. Their only means to the online world may be during classroom time. Along with access to tablets, students need working headphones that will eliminate outside noise while they are working diligently. Most of the headphones in the classroom do not work or are broken, many families can not afford the extra cost for headphones.

In addition to technology, I am requesting science kits and Time Kid magazines that will be used during centers. The science kits will enhance lessons that were taught during whole groups, so students can become innovative scientists! Time Kids magazines will be a useful tool to access real-world events and engage students' critical thinking skills.
