Students need hands-on experiences to become successful learners. The Time For Kids Nonfiction Readers will be used in our classroom library for students to self explore and become successful readers. In addition, the rug and pillows will allow students to be comfortable and enjoy a flexible seating classroom, which will increase student learning. Furthermore, the USA Learn and Play rug will not only provide comfort to the children while they are reading, but instill geographical concepts of their country. Research has shown student learning increases when they are given choices, whether learning centers or flexible seating. The student-centered environment will lead to active learning, enhanced classroom discussions, and student growth. The items that I am asking for will provide engagement for the various learning styles in the classroom, while enhancing student knowledge. Finally, the materials will assist in bridging the gap in critical areas, such as reading and math.
