I am a Head Start preschool teacher from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have seventeen, little pieces of the puzzle that make up my classroom. And though they are all unique and different individuals, they share one thing in common: poverty. My students receive less opportunities, less support, and less resources than a typical child, all due to their socioeconomic status. I want to give them more. Our society has come to an agreement that we have major issues to fix in our country, but is having a hard time deciding on how to do so. I think the best and most critical place to start is with our children. I want to do everything I can to ensure that my students have their best chance.
My Project
STEM ( science, technology, engineering, mathematics) materials allow my students to get hands-on with their explorations! I believe that science is incredibly important at all school ages, but especially at an early level.
I want my students to become little scientists now, so that they build a life-long love for science!
This Store and Explore Lakeshore Learning cart allows me to store materials in an organized and child-friendly manner. Our classroom does not have a microscope, so I would love to give them a chance to see how one works with the Junior Scientist Microscope. We will place samples under the lens so they can practice their observation skills. The table top magnifying glass is perfect for little hands to use to observe their nature walk finds! Thank you for your interest in our classroom! :
