I am a Head Start preschool teacher from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have 17 little pieces of the puzzle that make up my classroom. And though they are all unique and different individuals, they share one thing in common: poverty. My students receive less opportunities, less support, and less resources than a typical child. All due to their socioeconomic status. I want to give them more. Our society has come to an agreement that we have major issues to fix in our country, but is having a hard time deciding on how to do so. I think the best, and most critical, place to start, is with our children. I want to do everything I can to ensure that my students have their best chance.
