STEM in Social Studies

My Students

Our school district has always focused on building 'community' within our classrooms. This year, more than ever, a sense of community is needed for students and educators to wade their way through a confusing and demanding time. Our sixth grade class consists of 33 of the most community-centered students I have ever taught. They care about encouraging others and lifting others up. We truly are a family in this group.

My Project

We are incorporating STEM projects into our social studies World History classroom. This is a great way to make history hands-on, as well as pull in standards from different disciplines. My classroom has both in-person and e-learning students at the moment. These supplies would benefit both groups.

By donating to our project, you will be helping our students make things like clay tablets and Egyptian pyramids.

Our favorite project so far was mummifying apples in canopic jars. These supplies will help us continue to make projects related to ancient civilizations. It provides a way for students to engage with and connect to history, making it real and meaningful.
