Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inquisitive freshmen in high school. They are smart, creative, and goal-driven teens that come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Primarily Hispanic, students are selected from across the district to attend our school and pursue their diploma while simultaneously earning credit toward a professional certification in their chosen pathway. Ranging from welding, cosmetology, and auto tech to robotics, engineering, and veterinarian science, my students will earn the skills to go on to a four-year college or go directly into the workforce.

My Project

This is a fun, engaging activity that promotes higher-level thinking skills! The Cubelet robot kit will allow my students to explore creative problem-solving through robotics and STEM during their 25-minute "study hall" time. They will have the opportunity to create endless combinations that result in robots that function in different ways. Each Cubelet is specialized to perform a different function, so students will be able to let their creativity guide them as they learn to program.

This resource will help support high-level thinking and problem solving for my students.

They will have the opportunity to work collaboratively or independently to build these critical skills!
