Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In today's rapidly evolving world, proficiency in STEM subjects is increasingly vital. However, studies show that many students, particularly those from underserved communities, lack access to quality STEM education resources. Additionally, there is a growing recognition of the importance of integrating literacy skills with STEM learning to enhance comprehension and communication abilities. Our initiative addresses these challenges by providing comprehensive STEM kits tailored for elementary school students, incorporating elements of literacy and emphasizing the scientific process.
This grant aims to: increase access to high-quality STEM education resources, enhance students' literacy skills through interdisciplinary STEM activities that incorporate reading, writing, and communication, foster a deeper understanding of the scientific process, including observation, experimentation, data analysis, and critical thinking, and promote student engagement and enthusiasm for learning by providing hands-on, interactive STEM experiences.
