My Students

My class consists of creative and active first-grade boys and girls. I currently co-teach with an English as a Second Language teacher, and I have various cultures within my classroom including students whose families are from Bosnia and Mexico. I also have two non-verbal autistic kids in my classroom. My school is located in a suburban area within a neighborhood. Our school has been chosen as a "School of Character". The children are very enthusiastic to learn to read and learn this year!

My Project

Our school has a "Genius" hour on Friday afternoon where students use their creativity and critical thinking skills to do a variety of STEM projects.

The STEM materials provided through donations to this project will give my students opportunities to enhance their options for promoting creatively in the classroom.

These materials are essential to provide the students various projects to work on during Genius hour. The kids can build, create, and redesign the materials used to make cars, homes, and even a roller coaster. These materials assure that students will have the tools necessary to bring out their critical thinking skills.
