My Students

Many of the four-hundred students in the K-4 elementary school where I teach come from low income, high poverty, or bilingual households. Their situations are less than perfect and they face many challenges. My students need to see a warm, inviting and colorful classroom and have the supplies they need to be successful.

My Project

We have an upcoming book study for the chapter book "Stella Diaz Has Something To Say". I would love for my students to be able to have their own copy to follow along in and use as a resource. The books are not included in our reading program, they are an extra cost to the school district.

Stella Diaz warms everyone's heart as she tries to adjust to speaking just English instead of a mix of Spanish and English.

Stella overcomes her shyness and gets rid of her fears. Her story is realistic and relatable and I know my students will enjoy it.
