With the new school year quickly approaching, I find myself in a new grade level after 15 years teaching second grade. When my new third graders come in I want them to feel welcome. Bright colorful walls make a classroom warm and inviting. Mentor charts give children resources to use during center time and completing work. Centers and flashcards created on colored paper or in color also make resources easier to find for children when they are working independently. Work boards that are color coded will allow the children to be able to navigate center time on their own. Card stock and printer ink will allow me to grab my students attention with helpful resources. Using card stock will make these resources sturdy and easy for my children to use all year. Teaching a new grade level, I will be starting a lot of things from scratch and hope these resources will allow me to keep the things I make for years to come.
