My Project

These materials will give my students with autism the opportunity to participate in not on sensory activities, but STEM/STEAM related activities during speech collaborative lessons. My speech therapist and I collaborate during several lessons throughout the week, including Fundations, cooking/science, sensory/art, and read alouds. For this project, our students will learn to use sensory materials to build, problem solve, and cooperate with their peers. Using these materials during speech collaborations, math, science, and centers activities will give my learners the opportunity to learn through building and playing.

Our goal for this project is to give our students the chance to learn by building and seeing a project come to life from start to finish.

Our students are unique in the sense that they learn differently than most children. Furthermore, we want to give our students the chance to be successful during hands on group lessons by gathering these materials.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
