Your support has made a real, tangible difference in our classroom, and I am truly grateful.\r\n\r\nThe new learning materials have transformed our daily routine in ways I never could have imagined. My students are part of a 6:1:1 District 75 classroom, and the hands on tools you provided have helped them engage in learning through play, exploration, and sensory experiences. Whether they are sorting, building, tracing letters, or interacting during centers, these materials give them opportunities to practice communication, independence, and social skills in meaningful ways.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments since receiving our materials happened during our morning literacy center. A student who typically struggles to stay engaged picked up one of the new manipulatives and sat for several minutes and was able to attend our lesson. His smile said everything.\r\nThe impact extends far beyond academic work. During free choice time, my students explore the materials with excitement, showing curiosity and confidence that continues to grow each day. Watching them make choices, share space with their peers, and use the tools to express themselves has been incredibly meaningful. These are the moments that remind me how powerful the right resources can be.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only enriched our classroom, it has opened doors for my students to learn in ways that meet their unique needs. The addition of the new hoop and adaptive basketballs has already made a huge impact in our Adapted Physical Education classes. We've begun using the hoop during our basketball skill-building lessons, focusing on shooting form, dribbling, and simple passing routines. One of the most meaningful moments came when a student who usually avoids group sports took his first successful shot on the adjustable-height hoop. When the ball went in, he threw his hands up and smiled in a way I hadn't seen before. That single moment showed how the right equipment can open the door to confidence and participation.\r\n\r\nWhen the hoop and equipment arrived, my students were extremely excited. Many of them were drawn to the bright colors and the softer, easy-grip basketballs that help reduce anxiety and make the sport feel approachable. The adjustable height of the hoop especially made a difference — students of all ability levels were able to find success right away. Some practiced close-range shots, while others challenged themselves from farther back, turning it into a fun and motivating class activity.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we're now moving into small-group basketball stations where students practice shooting, dribbling, teamwork, and spatial awareness. Our next steps include introducing simple mini-games that help students develop communication skills, turn-taking, and motor planning. Your support didn't just give us equipment. These resources have already changed the way my students participate and learn during APE. With the new balls, cones, exercise bands, sensory-friendly equipment, and visual supports, my students are able to practice fundamental movement skills with more confidence and structure. One moment that stood out was when a student who normally avoids group activities joined a balancing game for the first time because he felt comfortable with the soft-touch, non-intimidating equipment you helped provide.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were excited in a way that felt genuine and joyful. They explored the textures, colors, and shapes, and immediately started asking if we could try new activities. The adapted gear made it easier for students with motor delays, sensory needs, and anxiety to engage without feeling overwhelmed. For many of them, having equipment that truly fits their abilities turned a challenging class into something fun and motivating.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we can now move forward with expanded lessons in locomotor skills, object control, fitness conditioning, and team-building activities. Our next steps include integrating these materials into our new stations-based rotations, where students will build strength, coordination, and independence at their own pace. These resources didn't just enhance our class—they opened doors for students who deserve every opportunity to move, grow, and feel successful. Because of your generosity, my students now have access to accurate, accessible equipment that helps them understand their bodies in a safe and positive way. We've already incorporated the scale into our weekly fitness and body-awareness lessons, and it has quickly become one of the most important tools in our program. One of my students who usually avoids transitions walked right up to the scale, smiled when he saw the digital display light up, and proudly announced \"my turn.\" That moment alone showed how much confidence this resource is building.\r\n\r\nWhen the scale arrived, the excitement on their faces was real. Many of my students rely on visual structure and predictable routines, and having a clear, stable platform they can stand on has made the process calmer and more successful. Students who used to feel nervous during measurements now step on with ease, and several of them have started asking questions about growth, healthy habits, and fitness goals. It has opened the door for meaningful conversations about self-awareness, strength, and taking care of their bodies.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we're now able to track progress more accurately and integrate the data into personalized fitness plans. Our next steps include using these measurements in our locomotor skill units and cardiovascular workouts so students can understand how movement and exercise affect their bodies over time. As the students learn to use the materials more efficiently and carry over the skills in classroom tasks, these items will be shared with parents so that they, too, may purchase them for home for their children to use.\r\n As an occupational therapist, this past week I conducted a push-in session for a classroom of younger students I work with for a handwriting program the teacher employs with her students. Prior to engaging in the accompanying video and writing, each student grasped the Stretch/Squeeze Ball to squeeze it with each hand five times as a fine motor warm-up, providing resistive activity so that they would better grasp their pencil/marker for writing. They engaged in the visual motor task of the Wooden Beads Sequencing Toy Set and placed beads onto columns, using their visual scanning skills, grading their grasp of the beads and using their eye hand coordination to place each bead neatly on the column. These warm-up activities aid them before participating in the actual task of handwriting. The student I was sitting with was able to grasp the marker and form lines and letter t successfully on the board provided. One student enjoyed working with the bead activity so much, that he needed increased cuing to transition away from it to the next handwriting task! Prior to practicing the self care skill of shoelace tying, students were provided with the Coogam wooden blocks puzzle board task and sticker by number activity as warm-ups to build on their two handed coordination and fine motor coordination. They took joy in each of these and one student chose to use the sticker by number activity as a reinforcer for completed work of practicing the shoelace tying steps. A student in another class I work with presents with low tone and weak grasp of classroom tools as crayons and scissors. She was delighted to use the new pegboard toy to practice her grasp of the pegs using adequate strength to press each into the board. For the older students who write, they preferred engaging in a fine motor and visual perceptual warm-up of the threading board task while another student completed a connect the dots activity in the Fun Activity Book for kids and smiled out of pride after connecting dots 1-25 in sequence correctly! \r\n In the coming months of the school year, I will use the chew toys as needed for the students that seek oral input, and to better help the students write nearly with adherence of letters and words to lines, the students will be presented with the Color by Numbers book to color in lines by sections. Your generosity has made such a difference in my speech lessons, and I want to share the impact it's already having on my students.\r\n\r\nThe pretend play materials have been a huge hit! Our students love the cash register and doctor's kit - two favorites that inspire role-play, social interaction, and rich language opportunities. During \"store\" play, students practice asking and answering questions, using new vocabulary, and taking turns. With the doctor's kit, they label body parts, and role-play doctor patient interactions which helps them feel more comfortable with the tools and interactions they might experience at the doctor. \r\n\r\nThe literacy and language tools you helped us receive are just as powerful. The acorn set has been wonderful for building letter awareness, helping students match letters with sounds and brainstorm words that start with each letter. The mystery box keeps them engaged and curious—students can't wait to reach inside, describe what they feel, and practice labeling and identification. The crayon sorting set has been their favorite of them all, sparking activities in color recognition, categorization, and naming objects. These playful learning experiences allow my students to grow in speech, literacy, and confidence every day.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, my speech lessons feel brighter, more engaging, and filled with opportunities for meaningful communication.
