Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students love creating with LEGO bricks. LEGO bricks can be a fun and educational way to develop many skills needed for life.
These kits open up connections to creative storytelling and technology.
The following of instructions, deciphering order and location of the bricks, helps our students develop their mathematical skills/spatial awareness. The Playstation 5, controllers, and games will be used for our Fun Fridays. Video games have improved attention skills, brain processing, eye-hand coordination, and cognitive functions. The bean bags will be part of our comfortable flexible seating. We will also host family gaming events as well. Please consider helping us fund this project. The LEGO kits will be showcased in our annual STEM to STEAM Expo. This will be one of many community events held at our school. Our population consists of students with disabilities, as well as English language learners (ELL).
