Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

If funded, my project would provide a unique and engaging learning experience for 30 students. By building a solar powered robot, these 4th grade students will be able to explore the science behind renewable energy and understand the importance of sustainability. This project would introduce the concept of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) into the classroom, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Overall, this project would greatly benefit my students and provide them with valuable skills and experiences that will stay with them for a lifetime.

What makes this project special is the opportunity it provides for underserved students. The majority of my students come from low-socioeconomic families and often do not have access to resources or experiences that can spark their curiosity and passion for learning. By providing the materials and guidance necessary to build a solar powered robot, I am giving my students the chance to not only learn about science and technology, but also to feel confident in their abilities to create and innovate.

In addition to the solar powered robot materials, this project would also provide my students with basic school supplies such as pencils, expo markers, post-its, and chair bands. These materials may seem small, but they can make a huge difference in a student's ability to focus and participate in class. By ensuring that my students have the necessary tools to learn, I am setting them up for success and helping them reach their full potential.
