Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are special needs learners in a high needs area. Most of my students come from Spanish speaking homes and are struggling to learn literacy skills both in English and in Spanish. I have students in grades kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth and fifth, learning together in one ID classroom with very different needs and skills.
Each student in my class needs highly individualized education and care plans to be successful both in school and in life and depend on our classroom to deliver highly specialized content and life skills.
My Project
Helping our classroom stay organized is paramount to modeling good organizational and education-based behaviors for our students. Tools like the 9-Section Drawer Organizer, Sparco Desk Sorter, 2 6 Quart Liter Storage Box, Advanced Universal Remote Control, Highlighters and Ziploc Sandwich Bags will help us reign in the chaos and restore true order to our classroom.
Also important are materials that can add comfort and sensory breaks for overwhelmed students like the Gadget.Cool 3.5mm Color Earphones, two Fleece Throw Blankets and Curél Fragrance Free Comforting Body Lotion - especially at such a dry time of year.
We would also truly value replenishing some of our supplies like the Elmer's All Purpose School Glue Sticks, Pacon Tru-Ray Construction Paper and learning resources like Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: Daniel Visits the Farm DVD Multiplication War Game Cards.
