Help me give my students a great start to the new academic school year. This includes an iPad, flexible seating, headphones, and daily supplies. I focus on having a clean and comfortable class environment which promotes academic success.

My Project

I will be teaching approximately 125 6th grade students in a Title I school. We are considered a high poverty area, but our students are rich in drive and determination.

I want to start the school year off strong with the necessary supplies such as pencils, highlighters, pens, and cleaning supplies to keep students engaged.

Flexible seating allows students to be comfortable while reading or researching. The use of an iPad allows students to research and participate in station activities. I do regular projects where we laminate handmade posters and use art materials to create Frayer models to help us review vocabulary. It's also that time of year when many students are dealing with colds and allergies, so we like to regularly sanitize and clean the desks and headphones with Lysol wipes and spray.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
