Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with a group of amazing students who bring so much to the school community. The students in my class need lots of repetition to learn new skills. In our class, we choose to focus on the students' strengths and gifts. Each student in Mrs. Wu's class has so much potential, and Mrs. Wu. and her para-educators and nurses are working to unlock that potential every day! Please help us to make our classroom a place of learning and thriving!
The students in my class have complex medical and educational needs.
Students need lots of support to be at school and learn. Students are immersed in meaningful experiences that engage multiple senses through time in the general education classroom, meaningful peer engagement, community exploration, music, art, and gardening.
My Project
My students have complex multiple disabilities and require hands-on learning materials that engage multiple senses while learning at home. This project will allow them to generalize skills while participating in hands-on learning at home and working on fine motor skills and functional academic skills such as gluing, coloring, and painting. This project will also allow students to participate in common activities we usually do in the classroom, such as gardening, even while learning from home. Students will also be able to complete fun hands-on crafts related to holidays and springtime themes.
