We had so much fun in the ball pit/bouncer! We can't wait for Thursday (rainy day!) to bust it out again. It's a great sensory experience and a chance for some of our less independent movers to ambulate by themselves. This is HUGE as our students are heavily dependent on us for so many, if not all, of their daily activities.\r\n We have so much fun bouncing, rolling with the balls, laughing, playing and giggling. The kids truly come to life when they are in the bounce house. \r\n Thank you for providing a truly normalizing experience (a bounce house) that most of our kids would not be able to access without these more individualized, sensory friendly opportunities.","fullyFundedDate":1762625407776,"projectUrl":"project/we-want-to-jump-for-joy/9876280/","projectTitle":"We Want to Jump for Joy!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Parks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5496676_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1588709119129","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5496676"},{"teacherId":5496676,"projectId":9139679,"letterContent":"Our Sound-Based Egg Hunt: A Joyful Learning Experience for All!\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our classroom now has sound-based eggs that have opened up a whole new world of learning and engagement for our students with severe disabilities. These special eggs make noises that help students locate them by sound, allowing everyone—regardless of visual, mobility, or cognitive challenges—to fully participate in activities like egg hunts and sensory exploration games.\r\n\r\nHow we're using the new resources:\r\nWe've been incorporating the sound-based eggs into our weekly functional and sensory lessons. Students practice listening skills, turn-taking, and independent movement as they search for the eggs around the classroom and playground. We've even used them for color-matching and counting activities, turning each \"hunt\" into a learning adventure!\r\n\r\nOur students' reactions:\r\nThe first time we turned on the eggs, the room filled with excitement and laughter. Many students smiled, clapped, or moved toward the sounds immediately. For some of our students, this was one of the first times they could independently find and \"discover\" something in a group activity. It was truly heartwarming to watch their confidence and joy grow.\r\n\r\nWhat's next:\r\nWe're now planning to expand on this success by creating themed sound hunts for each season—like finding \"chirping chicks\" in the spring or \"jingle bells\" in winter. These activities will continue to build listening comprehension, fine and gross motor skills, and social interaction in a way that's fun and meaningful for our students.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide equipment—it gave our students the opportunity to fully participate, learn through play, and celebrate success together.
