My Students

Our students are kind, compassionate, loving and hardworking. Our students are eager to learn and never give up despite all the experiences they have been through as immigrants or refugees. Our students are full of gratitude and bring so much joy into the school.

Although many I work with struggle with a variety of emotional and behavioral difficulties I see them continue each day with hope, determination, and perseverance.

Life is full of changes and challenges for this age group. I spend my days teaching them about ways to cope and express themselves in a healthy and productive way.

My goal for this project is to teach my students how small acts of kindness can inspire kindness and compassion community-wide.

My Project

I want to cultivate a community of kindness and compassion! Teaching our students the power of giving a positive and encouraging word is fundamental. Teaching our students about kindness and embracing a culture of kindness will change how our students see each other and learn to work towards being kind to each other and eradicate a culture of bullying.

My hope is that through doing things for others, they can see the joy that they can spread to others and the satisfaction that they can get through service to others.

These rocks will be placed around our school to encourage and inspire others. The hope is that it will have a boomerang effect, those who paint them will gain as much as those who see them.
