Spreading Kindness and Creating a Community Through Art!

Help me give my students shirts and supplies to create tye-dye works of art!

My Project

Every year I try to create art lessons in all mediums that are every shape and size. My fourth graders are hard workers who truly love creating new things. Allowing my students to express themselves is very important to me. I am asking for a class set of white shirts, dye for creating the art with other supplies needed, and fabric paint pens so they can make their own unique design. These items will allow my kids to create, problem-solve, and work together as a class to make a shirt. We have been working especially hard to promote kindness around the school. After these works of art are created, my fourth graders will have the opportunity to write a message to encourage kindness at school while using the fabric paint requested.

Throughout the school day, my students work hard to demonstrate respectful, responsible, and safe behavior.

I reward good behavior through a class reward point system. When they reach their goal, we have a class party. This year they have requested a tie-dye party. Unfortunately, something like this is not in my budget. This project would be the ultimate reward, and a dream come true! Students would work together to get the reward, and then again to create the reward.

These shirts will bring our class closer together while spreading messages of kindness. They will get the chance to wear their art creations for school spirit days, and school events. With your help, my students will feel more connected to our classroom community. Also, every time our students wear their shirts, they will be thinking of your kindness while promoting kindness with the shirt messages.
