Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I teach two, eager to learn, fifth grade classes! They enter our learning environment daily ready to solve equations, conduct science experiments, and learn about the world around them. Students work collaboratively to achieve not only as individuals, but as a class!

Since state testing is right around the corner, I would like them to have some fun when it's over.

For about six days, students are given state assessments in both literacy and mathematics. Each section takes anywhere between an hour or two. At the end of each session, I would like to give my students the opportunity to Spin for a Snack! I believe that students will really enjoy a break after testing, with a snack for their hard work and perseverance.
