Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every morning as I walk onto the blacktop to pick up my first graders, I am greeted with hugs and "I missed you,” even if I saw them yesterday. They come to school with smiles on their faces the majority of days, and some days, their home lives show on their faces. I want to ensure that they have the best educational experience I can give them during their time with me.

My students are joyful, curious, and their hardships do not define them.

I work in a Title I-funded school in California where 97% of the students receive free breakfast, lunch, and backpacks full of food to take home over the weekend. My students still come to school ready to learn and take on the world!

My Project

This school year we are in-person and it is wonderful to be able to be in the same physical space with my students. This is my second year in first grade but majority of my resources for are digital from the previous year of online teaching. This year I need more resources that are hands-on and a change from being on the computer all day.

The resources purchased from the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will help spice up our day and change it up a bit.

The resources purchased with the gift card will allow me to save time from creating my own resources. I will use this gift card will to purchase hands-on centers, games, and activities for my students. Teachers are already short on time and saving time will help me be my best self for my students. Thank you!
