Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class consists of 15-20 amazing students in an engaging and diverse community. I am a special education teacher teaching students with learning difficulties, attention deficit disorder as well as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. I am currently a co-teacher, so this project would benefit regular education students as well. My students are learning to grasp a growth mindset as well as acquiring lifelong skills. At this time, they are engaging in school in person as well as virtually. We are in education at a unique time when the world is changing as well as in chaos.

My Project

My project consists of lysol wipes, to keep all surface areas, desks, and laptops disinfected and bounty paper towels- to wipe up the messes in the classroom. The paper towels we are given barely clean up a spill without using almost half the roll. The hand sanitizer the schools provide smell bad provoking students to not use it.

Keeping students clean and engaged!

The students will be more inclined to use the hand sanitizer when it does not smell bad. Therefore, I added good smelling hand sanitizer to the list.

Last but not least, a neon light up board. I will use this in the classroom for students to be drawn to the light for engagement. I will put work, words for review, algebra problems- that are typically challenging for students to do. By putting the words for review and the algebra problems on the board, students who are normally disengaged from hearing the topic will be more inclined to try to do the work because of the look of it.
