Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a Special Day Autism Class, grade 4th to 6th, with a total of 13 amazing students. Autism is a huge spectrum and all my students have different abilities, goals, and interests. Our class is routine-based and my students do well in a structured environment. Some of my students have a speech delay or maybe are non-verbal. Some students are learning to write, read, and count, while some of their classmates are learning about social cues. Our classroom has lots of visual and communication systems, such as the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication.

In this class, we build a community around our unique talents and strengths and aid each other in developing potential and learning styles.

I urge my students to express and accept themselves for who they are, as well as embrace the differences of others. By creating a stimulating educational environment, students can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. We join a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to make sure that each student’s needs are met. The possibilities are endless when you have the tools you need to learn.

My Project

Help support my students thirst to learn about the solar system. This year my students voted to learn more about the solar system. In a previous project I requested books on the solar system, moon, stars, and anything that dealt with space.

Knowledge about the solar system is more important than ever.

It helps us appreciate the Earth. NASA says studying the solar system may help us understand important issues, such as how global warming will affect the Earth or how life originated on our planet.

With your help my students can understand the planets and small bodies that inhabit our solar system.
