There are so many things I would like to share with you about my Self Contain Autism class. First of all, I have the most amazing students. All my students are on the autism spectrum and are unique. Some of my students are non-verbal, and others have an unbelievable talent for things like music and art.
Autism is one of the most common developmental disabilities. People with autism, also called autism spectrum disorder (ASD), have differences in the way their brains develop and process information. As a result, they face significant communication, social, and behavior challenges.
My student thrives on repetition and routine. I try to make students' educational life as stress-free as possible by understanding the child's routine and sticking to it as much as possible. Doing so prevent tantrums, meltdowns, and unnecessary stress.
