This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing! I provide educational counseling support to students with an Individualized Education Plan due to a special education classification. Many come from extremely difficult situations, lack necessities, and do not receive much positive recognition, reinforcement, or support. My goal is to provide them with basic hygiene items, snacks as needed, awards, and certificates to acknowledge their efforts and successful accomplishments as well as their resilience. I do this from my resources but welcome support to continue this important work. As one who overcame many social/emotional environmental difficulties and was able to attend college and devote my life to supporting students who come from troubling circumstances, my goal is to assist my young students in doing the same.
