My Project

Many of my students are working on developing important SEL skills such as emotional regulation, empathy, self-awareness, and problem-solving. While we integrate these skills into our daily routines and instruction, having access to high-quality, age-appropriate SEL books would significantly enhance our ability to model, reinforce, and discuss these skills in a meaningful and engaging way.

Books provide students with relatable characters and stories that help them better understand and process their own emotions, behaviors, and social interactions.

For some of my students, especially those receiving SEL services or working on social-emotional IEP goals, these books can be powerful tools for scaffolding understanding and promoting generalization of skills.

If possible, I’d love to build a small SEL library with titles that cover topics such as:

Managing big feelings (anger, anxiety, disappointment)

Friendship and conflict resolution

Mindfulness and coping strategies

Self-confidence and self-esteem

Please let me know if there are existing resources I can tap into, or if there’s a process I should follow to formally request these materials. I’m also happy to provide a list of suggested titles if helpful.
