My Students

My students are full of energy. They are excited to be with other students. They are learning how to be in an educational setting that allows them to work together.

My students' education and social/emotional wellness has been greatly impacted by COVID-19.

We are working hard everyday to work through social and emotional deficiencies. Many students are in need of remediation to get to grade level work.

My Project

These resources will help me give specific instruction to my students about coping skills. Many of my students struggle with social interactions that involve conflict. Through these years of pandemic they have been kept in their own bubbles at school. The opportunities to work with others have been limited. Because of this, my students struggle to work through conflicts in a respectful and productive way.

I would also like to help my students develop a growth mindset.

Many of my students are quickly overwhelmed when they encounter difficulty in learning. They have negative self-talk and shut down. I would love to use the Growth Mindset Journal to help train my students. The stories would also give me examples that they can relate to.
