This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Title I , SPED, ESOL high school Reading and Language Arts students have a sense of hope to change themselves and others in spite the daily tribulations they face each and everyday. Their challenges and struggles entail lack of high interest books, and iPads,

The teacher requests these specific interactive materials because they will help to stimulate the students' critical minds and boost their images of self esteem which in the long run- will help confront their reading and writing deficiencies in a positive manner.

With these desperately sought out resources, the SPED and ESOl students will be better prepared and equipped to deal with any twenty first century controversial issue that may arise in their lifetime such as poverty, low academic performance, depression, bullying, tolerance, conservation, and bias viewpoints.

My Project

The requested high interest books and ipad will enable the SPED and ESLO low performing students to be highly engaged in their reading and writing grade level assignments.

Moreover, the Ipad and the class set of diverse biographies will stimulate a positive mindset which will help them to overcome daily obstacles such as experiencing low academic hardship, gender bias, rejection, limited technology resources, poverty, and hopelessness.

These vulnerable Title 1 students deserve better and these materials will help them to rebuild their self image and teach them to have a positive outlook on school and life. They need to experience social, emotional and academic growth, and success, so that they can make impactful changes in their current community.
