My diverse, low social and economical students are so motivated to learn a new language, but in a Title I school, sometimes instructional resources are hard to come by. However, as a proactive teacher, I have become quite creative over the past year, and have developed many strategies to obtain the grade level materials needed to provide my intensive reading students with a well balanced, academic experience. For example, the teacher has humbly asked, purchased, and visited recyclable centers to build and construct Common Core standardized projects to make learning Reading fun and dynamic. As a result, all students have been provided with many visuals and hands-on materials to help address their various cultural needs and academic learning capabilities, making them emotionally comfortable and empowered into becoming independent, future life long readers.
