This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a diverse bunch. There are English language learners - most are Spanish-speaking but there are some who speak Chinese, French, and Albanian. Of course, there are also some native English speakers. They are middle school students who have all the energy and emotions that all other students at that age have.
There are also many differently-abled students who have individual education plans and who need the adults in the building to use a little more creativity in teaching.
They love hands-on activities that keep their hands and minds engaged. I am hopeful that we can continue to provide that for them.
My Project
Snap Circuits electronic kits that teach students the basics of electronic circuitry will help our students build on their S.T.E.A.M. knowledge. They become more confident when they succeed at making a light come on or a bell sound. That confidence helps them to not be afraid to try or re-try things they may not have had success with.
The kits also allow for collaboration between classmates and then everyone can be involved in building and making something POP!
Students love hearing sounds they made happen by putting something together the correct way. Let's help build confidence and S.T.E.A.M. in these students.
