Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are inquisitive, unique, and curious little learners. They like to read and learn and are very expressive. Many of them are from single parent homes with one or no working parents. While my students have no control over their family's financial status, it should not ever be something that hinders them from being all that they can be.

My young scholars are looking for motivation in everything they do, see, and are exposed to.

Some of the things and situations they have been exposed to are completely out of their control, but I believe that with motivated teachers, data-based instruction, and the proper tools and motivation, the sky is the limit for each and every one of my students!

My Project

My students are inquisitive little learners. They do their best when they are focused and alert. Our school provides every child with a healthy breakfast and lunch daily.

The problem is that we have five hours from breakfast to lunch and students become hungry and restless.

When hunger sets in students struggle to focus on math and English. I want to provide snacks to keep my students ready to learn and able to concentrate on learning and participating in class. It would be very difficult to to be active when you body is telling you that you need to eat. With funding for this project, I can keep the stomachs happy and the learning flowing.
